Martin Wolf is Associate Editor and Chief Economics Commentator at the Financial Times, London. He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in 2000 for services to financial journalism. He started his career as a Young Professional at the World Bank in 1971, subsequently becoming Senior Economist in the India Division in 1974 and working on the core team of the first World Development Report in 1977-1978. He joined the Financial Times in 1987. His most recent publication is The Shifts and The Shocks: What we’ve learned – and have still to learn – from the financial crisis.
